French (Fr)Japanese(JP)English (United Kingdom)

Transfering a message from one language into another language takes some serious skills. Being good at languages is simply not enough: the translator needs to have a perfect understanding of the cultural environment, of your goals, of the subject matter and of the terminology. Don't take any risks, contract a specialist!

Working Languages

English--->French
Japanese --->French
Portuguese--->French

Most professional associations recommend clients to work with translators who translate exclusively into their native language, as it is nearly impossible to master to perfection the linguistic, stylistic and cultural subtleties of one's non-native language.

Following this recommendation, I translate exclusively into French - my native language - from English, Japanese and Portuguese. For all your translation needs into Japanese or English, I work closely with trusted native English and native Japanese translators.

Specialization

Although I work in a variety of fields, I have been formally trained as a social scientist and therefore specialize in social science, with a focus on anthropology, sociology and history.

I have also studied thouroughly Japanese and European arts and history of arts and am particularily well versed in traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, modelling. I have started a blog about Japanese arts and crafts.
